Alessandro  Di Robilant – Professor of Directing

Born in Switzerland and raised in Milan, Alessandro  Di Robilant is an Italian film director and screenwriter. He has directed ten feature films since 1985 and numerous TV movies, series and documentaries. His 1994 film “Il Giudice Ragazzino” (“Law of Courage”) won the Blue Angel Award at the 44th Berlin International Film Festival. He has won a number of other festival awards for films including “Anche lei fuma il sigaro”, “Il nodo alla cravatta”,  “I Fetentoni”, “Per Sempre”, “Marpiccolo” and “Mauro c’ha da fare”.

Alessandro earned his Bachelors degree at the University of Milan, and did his post-graduate work at the London Film School. His films have been distributed internationally for decades and he continues to be a major figure in contemporary Italian cinema, and has conducted a number of directing workshops for film professionals over the years. RIFS is proud to have him join our award-winning faculty.
