Barbara Parisi – Professor of Italian Film Studies

Professor Barbara Parisi has been teaching courses in Italian Language and Italian Film and culture at The Pantheon Institute (previously Penn State University, Sede di Roma) and Temple University Rome for over 20 years.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities at “La Sapienza” University of Rome, with a major in Pedagogy (1994), and a Masters in “Metodologia e Pratica dell’insegnamento (Practices and methods in education)” (2008).

Since 1999 she has taught courses and given lectures in numerous American universities in Rome, in Italian Language (Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels) and Italian Studies (Italian Culture, Contemporary Italian Literature and Italian Cinema).

She is the co-author of the highly acclaimed and popular Italian Language book in use for college students “.it” (copyright 2008). She’s also translated a number of other books and is a composer and lyricist of music, as well as a singer with published CDs and music credits on film soundtracks.

Barbara will be offering a variety of courses at RIFS focused on Italian film studies and history.
