Giammarco (Jimmy) Lauri – Professor of Sound Recording and Sound Design
Jimmy began working in sound recording in the music business. Before long he established a recording studio in Rome and expanded into the field of motion pictures and television. Since then he has collaborated on numerous productions, both on film sets and in the studio. He worked with Own Air Productions on the RAI documentary L’altra faccia della medaglia. He worked with Reset VFX Productions on a number of projects with director Giovanni Bufalini, with whom he works in a Master’s program in Film at the Scuola Romana di Fotografia e Cinema, assisting both live sound recording and sound design for all the productions out of the film department. With Dauphine Factory, and Alberto Simone, he worked on the TV series Sins. Recently Jimmy worked with RIFS director of studies Carl Haber, as the Sound Recordist and Sound Editor on “Belleview Hotel” the pilot for the TV series “Grey Areas”, produced with RIFS students from the Spring 2017 term.
