Saturday and Sunday January 28 – 29, 2017, 10:00 – 18:00
Taught by Alessandro Di Robilant, award-winning director and screenwriter of over a dozen feature films and films for TV.
In 15 hours over two days, Alessandro will help students explore the fundamental technical, professional and psychological skills of directing dramatic narrative in film. Students will learn how to analyze a script, break it into dramatic beats, translate those beats into direction for actors, work with floor plans, determine camera placement and movement, create shot lists and gain skills in the craft of directing performances.
He will also delve into what makes a scene come to life, how to establish the world of the film, and the practical jobs a director is responsible for from start to finish on a project.

In 15 ore divise in due giorni, Alessandro aiuterà gli studenti a esplorare le fondamentali abilità tecniche, professionali e psicologiche del dirigere una narrativa drammatica in un film. Gli studenti impareranno ad analizzare un copione, a spezzarlo in ritmi drammatici, a trasformare quei ritmi in una direzione per gli attori, a lavorare con le piante sceniche, a determinare la posizione della cinepresa e il movimento, a creare liste di ripresa e acquisire competenze nell’arte della regia di performance.
Alessandro si addentrerà anche negli elementi che fanno venire alla luce una scena, spiegherà come stabilire il mondo del film e il lavoro pratico per cui un regista è responsabile dall’inizio alla fine in un progetto.
