Saturday and Sunday February 4 -5, 2017, 10:00 – 18:00 Taught by Professor Barbara Parisi, professor in the field of Italian language and culture and film studies since 1999 at American Universities in Rome. The 15-hour class over two days will provide an overview of the classics of Italian cinema, from the “White Telephone” period during the fascist era, through the historic neo-realist period, to the comedy and magic of auteurs from the 50’s through the 70’s, including Fellini, Antonioni, Bertolucci, Scola, Monicelli, and many others, to the present modern era with personal and regional filmmaking, as well as successful international co-productions. Il suo film del 1994 “Il Giudice Ragazzino” (“Law of Courage”) ha vinto il premio Blue Angel al 44° Festival Internazionale del cinema di Berlino. Ha vinto molti altri premi di film festival, tra cui "Anche lei fuma il sigaro”, “Il nodo alla cravatta” e “Mauro c’ha da fare”.
